1st Day-Trip / Arrival

It’s the day you Arrive to Madeira Island.

2nd day-Boca da Corrida / Pico Grande / Curral das Freiras (13km) 5h30 walk

Transfer to Boca da Corrida to do a long way to Pico Grande. If you have strength, you can climb to 1654 meters and enjoy great views, where you will have an exuberant view of the Curral das Freiras valley. After a pause, you will downhill a gorge path, a considerable gap, with the zigzagging trail.

3rd day- Rabaçal / Levada do Risco / Levada das 25 Fontes / Vereda of Lagoa do Vento (18km) 6 walk

Transfer to Rabaçal, the gateway to charming and exuberant waterfalls. Going down to Rabaçal house where you start the trek of Levada do Risco with the sight of a dazzling waterfall. Then continue to along the Levada walk to 25 Fontes (25 Fountains). After arriving at the 25 Fontes delight yourself with the landscapes and the environment, like the waterfalls gushing toward a magnificent lagoon. Take a break and open your mind.

Throughout the Levadas of Century XIX (1835/1855), you will be able to admire many different species of Madeiran flora.We ended up exploring a little more of the wonders of Rabaçal to Lagoa do Vento, where the waters that flow beyond the lagoon are waters that feed the Risco waterfall.

4th day- Prazeres / Levada Nova / Paúl do Mar (13 km) 5h30 walk

This trip begins in Prazeres parish where you will discover the Levada Nova at a 700m altitude between the ocean and the mountain. Here you can fellowship with the local population. We cross gardens and cultivated farms where you will discover several lands. Descent to the Paúl do Mar, by a real way.

5th day- Galhano / Ribeira da Janela / Porto Moniz (25Km) 6h30 walk

Transfer to Fonte do Bispo. This walk allows us to discover one of the most luxuriant forests of Laurels. An exuberant, wild, primitive vegetation of the Madeira Island, laurels, puffs, endemic plants that takes us to Ribeira da Janela. Arriving to Porto Moniz you can relax in the wonderful natural pools.

6th day- Levada do Cedros / Chão da Ribeira / Seixal (17km) 6h walk

This trip starts at the Levada dos Cedros, which leads us to the Fanal where we will see the greatest and most extraordinary laurels in the world. Descent to the Seixal by an old shepherd’s path more accentuated. After the walk you can enjoy some bathing on the black sand beach in Seixal.

7th day- São Vicente / Levada do Norte / Encumeada (15km) 5h30 walk

The route begins in São Vicente parish where you will go up a long path until you find and cross the largest Levada of the island, Levada do Norte. Along the Levada, you will cross tunnels and waterfalls that will take you to the summit of Encumeada.

8th day- Vereda da Encumeada/Pico Ruivo/Achada do Teixeira (14km) 7h / 8h walk

We started at Encumeada for a great crossing over ridges and wonderful views over the island and the ocean up to Pico Ruivo (1862). After a well-deserved rest, descend to Achada do Teixeira.

9th day- Queimadas / Levada do Caldeirão Verde / Ilha (16km, round trip) 5h30 walk

Transfer to Queimadas Park. On this Levada walk, we lose ourselves in a lush green forest with flowers, green mossy walls, ferns, and waterfalls. You will discover one of the most spectacular Levadas on the island, with impressive canyon valleys, the origin of the Laurissilva vegetation (Unesco World Heritage).

This Levada is an impressive work of art built in the XVIII Century, which crosses abrupt cliffs and mountains and transports the water that flows from the highest mountains of the island. Along the way, you will pass through 4 tunnels excavated by hand, until arriving at the waterfall formed lake of the Caldeirão Verde at 100mt. After resting and delighting in this spectacular natural landscape, it is time to go back and down to the Ilha parish.

10th day- Cabanas de São Jorge / Quinta do Furão (4h30) 10km walk

This tour starts in the Cabanas de São Jorge parish, where we go down to the ocean, discovering an exuberant view. You will cross farm lands to São Jorge.

There, you will descend down by a path to the beach of Calhau de São Jorge, where you can enjoy the sun and take a relaxing dip.

We continue to Quinta do Furão where you will taste an exceptional Madeira wine in the Typical Adega (Wine Cellar).

11th day- Ponta de São Lourenço / Larano / Machico (20km) 7h30 walk

Departure from the Bay of Abra to discover a walk of minerals, dikes, and stunning colors. The peninsula is classified as a partial natural reserve and the Islet Desembarcadouro, an integral natural reserve.

Before climbing to the end of the trip you can view the ‘Deserted Islands’ as well as the island of Porto Santo.

Back to the Bay of Abra to transfer to the next trip, the Larano path. The trip is made by the slope overlooking the ocean, on an often narrow and dizzying path. At Boca do Risco, you can enjoy the north coast of the island of Madeira and see Porto Santo Island. Relax, before following the walk along a path often used by the population to move between the two locations.

Dinner “Bailinho da Madeira”

Enjoy a gastronomic experience in a typical Madeiran house with homemade flavors and tradition. Here you can taste the famous Espetada da Madeira (beef skewer), accompanied with fried corn, the traditional bolo do caco (bread), listening to the “Bailinho da Madeira” and Madeira Folklore.

12th/13th day- Porto Santo Island

Known for the warm, turquoise waters, diving sites and the long 9 km golden, fine sand beach on the island of Porto Santo. A true invitation to glorious sunbathing, sea and rest.

14th day Departure
