It’s the day you Arrive to Madeira Island.

Departure from the Bay D’ Abra. Discover a walk of minerals, dikes, and stunning colors. The peninsula is classified as a partial natural reserve and the Desembarcadouro Islet, an integral natural reserve.

Before climbing to the end of the trip you can view the ‘Deserted Islands’ as well as the island of Porto Santo. Finally, take a rest in the Sardinhas House (name of the family of the old owners) and dive in the bay of the Sardinhas.

This walk has its beginning near the tunnel of the old road that links Caniçal and Machico and goes through a portion of the southern part of the Island between these two locations.

A journey in which hikers discover a world of cultures and traditions of the island of Madeira, interacting with the people of the land. Along the walk, you will contemplate the scenic beauty of the lands and agricultural plantations, besides the views over the city of Machico.

The Madeira Island is one of the most privileged places in Europe to practice diving where you will have an unforgettable underwater experience. The temperate and crystalline waters of Madeira allow you to dive into its natural reserves and observe cnidarians such as anemones, black corals, moray eels, and even sea lions, the rarest seals in the world.

This course at the Water Treatment Station in São Jorge. The walk borders the King’s Levada and initially traverses an exotic forest zone combined with indigenous vegetation. In this initial zone, it is possible to observe the beautiful agricultural and panoramic landscapes of São Jorge and Santana. The Levada that crosses the slope, from the interior of the island, crosses an area of natural forest well developed and rich in natural biodiversity. The tunnels formed by the luxuriant vegetation and by the great variety of existent species, as well as the presence of the beautiful Levada, are good examples of the natural, constructed and cultural heritage of the island. Dinner “Bailinho da Madeira”
Enjoy a gastronomic experience in a typical Madeiran house with homemade flavors and tradition. Here you can taste the famous Espetada da Madeira (beef skewer), accompanied with fried corn, the traditional bolo do caco (bread), listening to the “Bailinho da Madeira” and Madeira FolkloreBonito before returning by the same path.

You can even have the opportunity to see up close, dolphin, whales, and giant tortoises. Near to Cabo Girão, you still have time for a swim in a contagious blue sea.
