1st Day-Trip / Arrival

It’s the day you Arrive to Madeira Island.

2nd day- Queimadas Park / Levada Caldeirão Verde (13km, go and return trip) 5h walk

Transfer to Queimadas Park. On this Levada walk, we lose ourselves in a lush green forest with flowers, green mossy walls, ferns, and waterfalls. You will discover one of the most spectacular Levadas on the island, with impressive canyon valleys, the origin of the Laurissilva vegetation (Unesco World Heritage).

This Levada is an impressive work of art built in the XVIII Century, which crosses abrupt cliffs and mountains and transports the water that flows from the highest mountains of the island. Along the way, you will pass through 4 tunnels excavated by hand, until arriving at the waterfall formed lake of the Caldeirão Verde at 100mt. After resting and delighting in this spectacular natural landscape, it’s time to return

3th day- Ponta de São Lourenço / Prainha (11km) 4h walk

Departure from the Bay D’ Abra. Discover a walk of minerals, dikes, and stunning colors. The peninsula is classified as a partial natural reserve and the Desembarcadouro Islet, an integral natural reserve.

Before climbing to the end of the trip you can view the ‘Deserted Islands’ as well as the island of Porto Santo. Finally, take a rest in the Sardinhas House (name of the family of the old owners) and dive in the bay of the Sardinhas. Time to go back and take a dip or relax on the black sand beach of volcanic origin, Prainha.

4th day- Porto da Cruz / Larano / Machico (14km) 5h walk

Transfer to Porto da Cruz where you will cross the beach of Porto da Cruz until crossing a real path until Larano path. The route is made by the slope overlooking the ocean, in a path, often narrow and vertigo. At Boca do Risco View, you can enjoy the north coast of the island of Madeira and see the island of Porto Santo. Relax, before following the walk along a path often used by the population to move between the two locations.

5th day- Pico do Areeiro / Pico Ruivo / Achada do Teixeira (10km) 5h walk

The crossing at the altitude of Pico do Areeiro (1818mt) to the highest peak of the island of Madeira, Pico Ruivo (1862mt). Up there, you will enjoy a 360º view of the entire island.

Descend to Achada do Teixeira, time to visit a natural figure in basaltic rock, the “Standing Man”.

6th Day- Boat Tour in a ‘Caravel’ sailing ship

A 3 hour trip in a replica of Christopher Columbus’ sailing ship, sailing along the south Madeira coast. You can even have the opportunity to see dolphins, whales, and giant tortoises up close. Near to Cabo Girão, you have the opportunity for a swim in the blue sea.

Free afternoon in Funchal.

7th day- Boca da Corrida / Pico Grande / Curral das Freiras (13km) 5h30 walk

Transfer to Boca da Corrida to do a long walk to Pico Grande. If you have strength, you can climb to 1654 meters and enjoy great views, where you will have an exuberant view of the Curral das Freiras valley. After a pause, you will descend down a gorge path, a considerable gap, on a zigzagging trail.

8th day- Galhano / Ribeira da Janela / Porto Moniz (25Km) 6h30 walk

Transfer to Fonte do Bispo. This walk allows us to discover one of the most luxuriant Laurel forests that contain exuberant, wild, primitive vegetation of the Madeira Island, laurels, puffs, endemic plants and takes us to Ribeira da Janela. Arriving in Porto Moniz where you can relax in the wonderful natural pools.

9th day- Levada do Cedros / Chão da Ribeira / Seixal (17km) 6h walk

This trip starts at the Levada dos Cedros, which leads us to the Fanal where we will see the greatest and most extraordinary laurels in the world. Descent to the Seixal by an old shepherd’s path more accentuated. After the walk you can enjoy some bathing on the black sand beach in Seixal.

10th Day- Rabaçal / Levada do Risco / Levada das 25 Fontes (11km) 4h walk

Transfer to Rabaçal, the gateway to charming and exuberant waterfalls. Going down to Rabaçal house where you start the trek of Levada do Risco with the sight of a dazzling waterfall. Then continue to along the Levada walk to 25 Fontes (25 Fountains).

After arriving at the 25 Fontes delight yourself with the landscapes and the environment, like the waterfalls gushing toward a magnificent lagoon. Take a break and open your mind.  Throughout the Levadas of Century XIX (1835/1855), you will be able to admire many different species of Madeiran flora.

11th day- São Vicente / Levada do Norte / Encumeada (15km) 5h30 walk

The route begins in São Vicente parish where you will go up a long path until you find and cross the largest Levada of the island, Levada do Norte. Along the Levada, you will cross tunnels and waterfalls that will take you to the summit of Encumeada.

12th Day- Horse Riding

An extraordinary experience to Santo da Serra, 900m high, by the secret paths of the island of Madeira. Stop in Santana to visit the typical and traditional houses of Santana, some still inhabited.

Evening– Dinner / Cocktail

13th Day- Free day in the city of Funchal
